Far above rubies
Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies. Proverbs 31:10
Goodbye, Ruby Tuesday
Don't question why she needs to be so free
There's no time to lose,
Goodbye, Ruby Tuesday
A thought for today, my 40th (ruby) wedding anniversary.
Ruby is a pink to blood red gemstone. Name comes from Ruber, latin for red.
Ruby is a computer programming language.
Ruby is cockney rhyming slang for a curry.
Ruby Murray is the Irish singer whose name lives on as the source of the above rhyming slang.
Ruby Wax American comedienne.
Ruby Tuesday, 1966 Rolling Stones song.
She would never say where she came from
Yesterday don't matter if it's gone
While the sun is bright
Or in the darkest night
No one knows She comes and goes
Goodbye, Ruby Tuesday
Who could hang a name on you?
When you change with every new day
Still I'm gonna miss you...
Don't question why she needs to be so free
She'll tell you it's the only way to be
She just can't be chained
To a life where nothing's gained
And nothing's lost
At such a cost
There's no time to lose,
I heard her say
Catch your dreams before they slip away
Dying all the time
Lose your dreams
And you will lose your mind.
Ain't life unkind?
Goodbye, Ruby Tuesday
Who could hang a name on you?
When you change with every new day
Still I'm gonna miss you...
January Twenty Three
January twenty three
Used to mean so much to me.
As a child I couldn’t wait
Until it reached that special date.
It took so long to come around,
Then I would hear that special sound
Of birthday wishes just for me,
With friends around for party tea.
With every year I grew and grew
And soon I’d aged to twenty two.
As years advanced my children came
And they had parties just the same.
The kids have grown and years have passed.
Now they seem to come round fast.
It’s come again too fast for me,
That dreaded January twenty three.
Used to mean so much to me.
As a child I couldn’t wait
Until it reached that special date.
It took so long to come around,
Then I would hear that special sound
Of birthday wishes just for me,
With friends around for party tea.
With every year I grew and grew
And soon I’d aged to twenty two.
As years advanced my children came
And they had parties just the same.
The kids have grown and years have passed.
Now they seem to come round fast.
It’s come again too fast for me,
That dreaded January twenty three.

Penblwydd Hapus Stuart
Stuart will be 5 tomorrow (17th). Because we won't be seeing him on the day we had a cake with candles here for him today. As we were singing Happy Birthday to him he joined in and sang it in Welsh, which they have been learning at school
Here he is with his favourite Lego which was a present from Daddy.
