January Twenty Three

January twenty three
Used to mean so much to me.
As a child I couldn’t wait
Until it reached that special date.

It took so long to come around,
Then I would hear that special sound
Of birthday wishes just for me,
With friends around for party tea.

With every year I grew and grew
And soon I’d aged to twenty two.
As years advanced my children came
And they had parties just the same.

The kids have grown and years have passed.
Now they seem to come round fast.
It’s come again too fast for me,
That dreaded January twenty three.

Penblwydd Hapus Stuart

Stuart will be 5 tomorrow (17th). Because we won't be seeing him on the day we had a cake with candles here for him today. As we were singing Happy Birthday to him he joined in and sang it in Welsh, which they have been learning at school

Here he is with his favourite Lego which was a present from Daddy.

Opening ceremony

I missed the opening ceremony of our new house because I left Pakistan before it could be arranged. Hubby's maternal uncle and his eldest sister both cut the ribbons. Food for almost 100 people was cooked on a fire outdoors, which is what they do in Kashmir when cooking for large numbers.

Doogle 1997 - 2007

A very sad day here for us. Our lovely cat Doogle was killed in a road accident on Sunday. We will miss him so much.
